Mark Ahlquist, MD

Dr. Mark Ahlquist says, “Spiritual issues have always played a big part in our lives for physical and mental health reasons. They were involved heavily in my health and welfare growing up and played a big part in why I went into medicine. Helping people face death well in addition to living life well are major drivers in my approach to medicine and still give me great satisfaction as I work with patients of all ages.”

“I am a city boy transplanted to the country, born and raised in the metro.  My special interests include Dermatology problems, Chronic pain and substance abuse,  ICC physicals for trucking and mental health issues of all kinds (peds and adults).  I do include counseling in my visits (where appropriate).  My counseling can involve spiritual concerns with patient interest and consent.”

“I have been married to my wife for 38.5 years now and it gets better each year. We share hard times as well as the good but have been able to raise 4 children, 3 of whom are married. They provide us great joy with 9 grandchildren including once set of twin girls.”

“I am in my 39th year of practice here in Renville county and am NOT near burnout but rather enjoying the new twists my practice here at RCHC is providing me. I hope to finish strong here whatever years I have left to practice.”
